Complete Guide to Safe Scouting

New! 2008 Eagle Scout Rank Application

New Boy Scout Rank Requirements Effective January 1 2008
The National Youth Protection Committee recommended additions to Boy Scout rank requirements that were approved and will become effective January 1, 2008. These changes will help us advance the importance of Youth Protection training beyond the initial Boy Scout joining requirements, and keep youth informed and actively engaged in understanding the key elements of personal safety and protection. These new requirements ONLY apply to youth who have not completed that rank by Jan. 1 2008. Please click here to read about the new requirements.

Special Section and Tribute to Flora Bull

People who know anything about the history of Camp Coker know about Flora. She was in charge of the kitchen for many many years, providing great food in great quantities to thousands of Boy Scouts. Above and beyond that, she also was a great example to everyone at camp, a second mom, a good listener, a great friend.

We all mourn the loss of our beloved Flora Bull who was laid to rest in a quiet country graveyard in November, 2007. At the request of her family a Flora Bull Tribute Fund has been established by the Pee Dee Area Council to honor and perpetuate her memory by making improvements to her beloved dining hall and kitchen at Camp. As you know, over $183,000 has been spent on the dining hall this year--but much work needs to be done. Please join in making a check and mailing to:
Pee Dee Area Council, BSA, PO Box 268, Florence, SC 29503 and marking it Flora Fund.
